At First Lantern, we believe that not every piece of Chenpi deserves to be called First Lantern. Our name has become a mark of trust, representing exceptional quality and artisanal dedication in the world of aged tangerine peel.

From the heart of Xinhui’s core terroir — where the West, Tan, and South Sea waters converge — we cultivate our tea-branch mandarin trees under standards that go far beyond conventional farming. Our orchards are chemical-fertilizer-free for life, nurtured with organic amendments like peanut meal, cow bone powder, and shellfish compost. Every tree enjoys 18 m² of open space, planted on high ridges to ensure healthy roots, abundant sunlight, and optimal airflow.

We specialize in the rare original-branch variety, the purest genetic line of Xinhui mandarins, renowned for its rich aroma, mellow sweetness, and absence of bitterness. This variety is exceptionally slow-growing, low-yielding, and challenging to cultivate — which is why few attempt it. We do, because perfection has no shortcuts.

Our commitment continues beyond the harvest. Only the top 5% of fruit pass our six rounds of selection. The peel is sun-wilted using traditional three-cut methods in a five-star clean drying facility, then aged in our patented “Four Seasons in a Day” climate-controlled warehouses. This process preserves the integrity of each peel, elevating its flavor, medicinal value, and collectible worth.
